Small farms have problems dealing with crop loss and other issues related to extreme weather events such as flooding and droughts. A recent report titled “North Carolina Climate Risk Assessment and Resilience Plan,” predicts that increases in extreme precipitation are likely to increase inland flooding, causing further economic and agricultural losses in North Carolina.

To help inmates find employment after release, Pamlico Community College has partnered with Pamlico Correctional Institution to offer them college-level classes. Learn about this amazing nonprofit educational facility which has been providing education to children in the seacoast for more than 56 years. They currently serve 300 children starting at age 8 weeks from 23 seacoast towns.
Melissa Caldwell, Executive Director shares how they provide full-time, after-school, vacation, and summer care for local children at their facility and in local schools. Learn who they help, the scholarships they offer (32% receive some sort of support), and where they stand post-covid. Hear about their challenges including finding staffing that could allow them to add up to two more classrooms, the difficulty of providing a "livable wage" for their staff, and how they are dealing with the increasing costs of food and other expenses. Their needs continue to grow for support and volunteers.

The Youth Ambassadors for a Better Community program aims to help youths in Columbus, Bladen and Brunswick counties. The program gives valuable life and leadership skills to middle and high school students, giving them ownership to tackle challenges in their communities.

He's raised $8,000 to help a man who lost his home in a fire.

3rd annual Micah Hyde Charity softball game puts emphasis on community

School safety is a top priority at the local, state and national levels as the number of school shootings on campuses across the United States has increased. ncIMPACT features several school districts that are working to reduce incidents of violence and bullying to ensure their schools are a safe place to learn.

Houston's largest charity comedy show is back this time at the city's biggest comedy club, Houston Improv. We are raising money to build a school in East Bali partnering with the Hearts Company.
